Paratransit for Parks
I was talking to a senior who uses a wheelchair, she asked me if I could let her know if there were any inclusive playgrounds in the city where she lived . I asked her to define inclusive playground. She said a park that would have activities for her to participate in. I couldn't think of many parks in that city that are inclusive for her as person with a disability. And the few that I could think of were no where near where she lived. Paratransit fior Parks is part of the answer to this problem. Paratransit for Parks is here to educate people about the existence of virtual recreation equipment that can fit their needs, and be immediately used in a park near where they live.
Additionally virtual recreation equipment does not have to be created specifically l to meet the play requirements of people with special needs. Many of the apps in the Google Play Store that were not designed specifically for people with special needs will work equally well with them. For example I have used a kaleidoscope application with a fellow with dementia. The point being that if any of the apps that you can find using Gongoozle meets your special need, then it is a defacto special needs app for you.
